    Hi,

I got a new phone some days ago - a Nokia Windows Phone 8. I can see that the Bluetooth is working and phone functions are working but when you connect it by USB to reacikh playlist there is no support. Does anyone know if there will be support for this in future SW upgrade?

    Hi guys,

By coincidense I found this picture on the web. I find it interesting and very nice looking. New grille, new headlamps with projection lights and probably xenon, new side protection on the doors. I could not derive any information on the website. Does any of you know anything about this?

I had no possibility to add the pic here but I add the link to the site. Please scroll down a bit and you will find it

Excuse if I am negative but I am not impressed. Just bling bling and nothing that is really interesting. xenonlights, a six cylinder diesel, rainsensor, and some more features with some substans maybe would earn a new top of the line model.

    Hi guys,

I am about to equip my Freemont with a towing hook ( Westfalia ). With the towing hook I got a universal electrical cable harness with a relaybox. Installing this means a lot of cutting and soldering in the car which does not attract me, since I do not like to start cutting in new car. Does anybody know about any pre-made harness that is just "plug and play" ?

Second question. In my registration papers it says that the car is good for 1100kg of towing with breakes and 450kg without brakes ( which is very low ). With the userhandbook there was a complementary paper from Fiat that says 1250kg but nothing about the weight without brakes. Is anybody familiar if this number is also uprated?

    Thanks
    Henrik

    Hi guys,

First: I have now double checked concerning the legal status in Sweden. The law is clear - it is NOT allowed with retrofitted xenon as long as you do not do it exactly as it was from factory with all height adjustments, etc, etc. In our case this is not possible since there were no xenon from factory.

Second: The lawbook is one thing, interpretation is another. It seems at the control stations ( Bilprovningen ) in many cases allow retrofit xenon in the high beam. This was the background to my first posting.

Das kann ich mir gut vorstellen

wie ist das jetzt mit den Can Bus Xenon Kit das kann doch garnicht legal sein ?

I am not completely sure from a strictly legal point of view. However the issue is the low beam and in Sweden is what the police and TUF is looking for when they are doing controls. With the high beam you are much more free to do what you want. I guess that vary from country to country.

I have today ordered a pair of Osram Night Breaker H11 for the low beam and a Xenonkit HB3 Canbus for the high beam. This setup I believe is still legal and I hope the result will be good. I will come back with a report.

    Hi guys,

I bought my Freemont "ready" equipped. It is an Urban and has the DVD package also. What I miss is the rear camera since the sight backwards is not that good and we have a lot of kids around which makes me a little worried. I have done some investigation on the Dodge Journey forum and it seems two ways to solve this. One is using the Lockpick C8 module which locks up the camera functions + some other functions. See installation video below.

The price of the Lockpick C8 on ebay is about USD260 which I find reasonable + the cost for the camera which was 30USD

The other one is a more complex modul ( and pretty costly USD1600 ) which also adds navigation without changing the original 8.4" screen.

Both alternatives means that you have to route a cable from the rear up to the instrument panel. According to instructions I found that very complex where you have to tear down "half of the car". I have ordered a wireless kit from ebay ( have not recieved it yet ) and hope it will do the job

I am still waiting for the Lockpick and the wireless so it will be interesting to see if it will work out as intended.

Do we have some experiences here from a similar installation or other solutions?

    Happy new year

    Hi guys,

I realize that I have not yet introduced myself and apologize for that. I hope it is OK to write in english since my school german is not that good.

We purchased our Freemont in nov 12 and it is a Urban with the 140hp diesel and equipped with the DVD entertainment system which the kids love. We have four girls so we needed a bigger car. We also have a BMW 5-serie and for my pleasure I have a GT40 replica which I both enjoy on the street as well as on the track.

I am a true petrolhead and enjoys all cars and technical stuff as well. However I also like skiing, boating, travel, wine and food. I especially favour Italy and we spend a lot of time in Italy on our holidays. Before the Fiat we had an Alfa 156 which I really loved for its agility. The Freemont is another creature of course since our requirements has changed with the number of kids. However I must say it is very nice on the road for its size and the roll is very little for such vehicle. The first impression after this short period is very good. The comfort and roadholding is very good. I also like the steering since it communicates. The level of equipment is very high considering the price and it actually was a real bargain.

Of course there are some things that I do not like but they are no showstoppers. I will convert to HID since the lowbeam is not sufficient for my purposes. I have also invested in a extra rustproof protection since we intend to keep the car for quite a few years.

I am looking forward to follow and participate in the discussions on the forum.

All the best to you and Happy new year!
    Henrik
