Freemont 170 HP 2.0 MJ2 AWD EVOX tuning box

  • Hello guys,

    I own both; 3.6 V6 and 2.0 MJ2 AWD Freemonts.
I've been thinking for some time of improving the diesel's performance because the general "feel" of the car is so far away from the original (3.6 V6) ;( ;)

Do not get me wrong, I'm not looking forward to turn this vehicle into a racing car. I just want to improve it slightly to be more pleasant to drive, force the gearbox to behave more "diesel like" (now it keeps RPMs too high like on the petrol engine and generally works sluggish) and maybe lower the fuel consumption by the way.

We have some great tuners here in Poland with outstanding results on Fiat's MultiJets, but I am not interested in "hard" map change to perform which the body of computer must be disassembled.
That's why I'm thinking of some good tuning box.

I've found a 3-way tuning box from EVOX, prices 700 EURO.

Is there anybody here who has some experience with this unit or this kind of upgrade in Freemont's MJ2 engine ? :)
