Wiring harness for towing hook

    Hi guys,


    I am about to equip my Freemont with a towing hook ( Westfalia ). With the towing hook I got a universal electrical cable harness with a relaybox. Installing this means a lot of cutting and soldering in the car which does not attract me, since I do not like to start cutting in new car. Does anybody know about any pre-made harness that is just "plug and play" ?


    Second question. In my registration papers it says that the car is good for 1100kg of towing with breakes and 450kg without brakes ( which is very low ). With the userhandbook there was a complementary paper from Fiat that says 1250kg but nothing about the weight without brakes. Is anybody familiar if this number is also uprated?

    there are ready-made installation-kits for Fiat Freemont. In Germany, we have a huge online-shop which sells that stuff ( http://www.kupplung.de ). You might get it from your Fiat-Dealer too.



    I found the installation manual for this kit here: http://img2.kupplung.de/mall/1/files/samples/fi0694_v1.pdf. It is in many languages.



    Fiat changed the towing capacity from 1100kg to 1250kg during 2012. The owners manual shows still the old value. Maybe someone with the newer model can take a look in the German registration paper. Here are both values listed ( w. brake/ without brakes). Mine has also 450kg/1100kg.

    Drei Jahre Freemont gefahren, drum bin ich auch noch hier. :P
